Photo of the day

I don't know if you've noticed but recently I've been using my phone to take all the photos for my blog, I think the quality is a lot better, what do you think?

Do you prefer photos like this or the ones my old camera took?

Clearasil - Pore Cleansing Pads

My daughter and I have been trying these for a while now.
These are quite rough so I wouldn't recommend using these every day, but these are great for clearing up break outs.

All you have to do with these is gently rub them all over the face and they lift a lot of dirt out of your pores.
So far I've had no reaction to these so they seem to be suitable for sensitive skin (though I only use these every couple of days).

When my daughter and I had a couple of bad break outs lately, they cleared up pretty quickly with these. So I'd recommend giving them a try.

They cost £3.79 for 65 pads from Boots and other chemists.

Bayliss and Harding - Skin Spa Body Cleanser and Polish

I was given these for Christmas by my daughter and now I've nearly used up all the shower gel I thought I'd better review them.
They both smell great the rosemary, ylang ylang and patchouli fragrance is gentle and feminine.
The shower gel has lasted me ages even though it's only a little 100ml bottle.

The only niggle is the fact that the gel is quite thick and a bit of a pain to get out of the bottle, but other than that it lathers up well and smells lovely.

The body polish is nice too (I haven't used this as much as the shower gel though). It exfoliates without feeling like sandpaper and seems to leave my skin feeling fresh and clean.

I'm not sure if you can get these at the moment (they were in the Boots christmas gift section) but if you see them they are worth trying.

Pecksniff's Moisturising Shower Gel - Rose & Peony

This is another T K Maxx bargain originally priced at £20.00 I only paid £4.00 for it!

I love the Pecksniff's products they always smell amazing and last a long time. This one smells really feminine but not overly floral or sweet.

If you go to T K Maxx check out the bath and body section, there are always little bargains like this to be had.

Woods and Windsor Hand Wash - White Jasmine

Went to TK Maxx recently and picked up this beautiful hand wash. This Woods and Windsor Moisturising Hand wash only cost me £2.99 it's originally priced at £4.95.

I like rummaging around the bath and body section in my local T K Maxx as I always find a nice hand wash or shower gel for a reasonable price.

If you see this I recommend you try it, it smells lovely.

Sally Hansen - Natural Powder Blush - Plumberry

I got this recently in a pack from the pound shop, it came with a lipstick and gloss.

It's a really nice blush, It's quite pigmented so I have to be careful and make sure I only apply a little bit at a time.

I prefer brownish blushes, this is what it looks like on my hand.

I mainly use blushes for a touch of colour and contouring my face. I think this was great little bargain.
Not sure how much it costs brand new.
I'm glad I picked it up as my Rimmel bronzer is nearly finished and this is not far off the colour of that one.

So check out the little cosmetic packages in your local pound shop, you may just find a little bargain.

Clairol Root Touch-up

I've used this product a few times. This is the root touch up by Clairol, it's a small amount of hair dye designed for touching up your roots, so you don't over dye your hair.

In the pack you get instructions, tinting brush, gloves, a small bowl and the two parts of the dye.

Once you've mixed the two parts of the dye together and applied it to your roots, you only need to leave this on for ten minutes.

Here's my hair before.

Now I realise the camera hasn't picked up my grey's much but here's my hair after using the dye.

I usually have a larger patch of grey on the right side of my head and this dye covers it completely.
Root touch up is designed to match most medium shades and I think it does a pretty good job of matching the dye I usually use. The dye is permanent so it's only the regrowth that will eventually show through in about 6-8 weeks.

This pack cost me £4.28 from Boots.

This is a great way of hiding those greys in between the times you dye your hair.

NYC Pout and Pencil

Saw this and though it would be a handy addition to my handbag.

In one handy container you get a lipgloss and lip pencil.

The lip pencil is nice and soft and easy to apply and the gloss is a pretty shimmery pink colour.

The pencil is way darker than the gloss but once blended doesn't stand out too badly. I'd probably use the pencil with other lipsticks I have, but I thought it was handy to have a lip liner and gloss in one package.

I like the colour of the gloss it adds a bit of colour to my lips without being over the top or sticky.

This only cost me £1.

Verdict: Bargain!

Pound Shop Bargain - Sally Hansen Goodies!

This pack cost me only £1!

In this pack I got a Colour comfort lipstick in sunburst, lacquer lipgloss and nail polish. I've already reviewed the hard as wraps nail polish which is excellent.

I haven't tried the lipgloss or lipstick yet as I'm trying to use up other lipsticks before I open any new ones, but I wanted to show you that you don't have to spend a fortune to buy decent cosmetics. It's always worth having a rummage in your local pound shop.
